James Hutchison

Services for James A. "Hutch" Hutchison Sr., 85, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, June 4, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday.

Mr. Hutchison passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011 in Cleburne. He was born July 17, 1925 in Johnson County to William Howard and Mabel Mary Milner Hutchison. He married Nautilla Maxine Standridge on August 25, 1942 in Cleburne, Texas.

Mr. Hutchison served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII in the South Pacific. He joined the Marine Corps Reserve after his tenure on active duty and was called back to active duty during the Korean War. He retired from the Marines in 1966. Mr. Hutchison retired from the Santa Fe Railroad on August 31, 1987, with over 45 years service where he was Senior Clerk to the Supt. of Shops. He was a member of Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Cleburne for over 69 years. He was active in the Boy Scouts in various capacities and was a Brotherhood Member of the Honor Society "Order of the Arrow." He was a member of Knights of Pythias and was active for many years where he was a Past Chancellor Commander, Past District Deputy Grand Chancellor and received the Honorary Degree Knights of the Golden Spur.

Mr. Hutchison is survived by his son, James A. Hutchison Jr. ; grandchildren, Clifford Paul Hutchison and wife Melissa and Misty Michelle Hutchison; great grandchildren, Phoenix Ray Burnett, Devin Kai Hanson and Heather Cassidy Hutchison; sister, Edna Browning "Arzula"; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nautilla Hutchison on June 5, 1992; son, L. Byron Hutchison; sister, Jenna Mae Myers; brother, W.B. Hutchison; daughter-in-law, Patricia Hutchison and grandson, James A. Hutchison III.

Memorials may be made to Saint Mark United Methodist Church Breadbasket, 1111 W. Chambers, Cleburne, Texas 76033; or the charity of your choice.
