Graveside services for James A. “Jimmy” Lee, 85, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 4, 2022 in Covington Cemetery in Covington. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, June 3, 2022 at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to College Heights Baptist Church at 1007 Phillips Cleburne, Texas 76033.
Jimmy passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 in Cleburne. He was born February 18, 1937 in Griffith Switch, Texas to Horace H. Lee, Sr. and Edna LeeAnn Holmes Lee. Jimmy married Mildred Fay Cole on March 4, 1966 in Cleburne. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era from 1960-1966. Jimmy worked for Santa Fe Railroads for 32 years and then Rubbermaid for 12 years, before retiring in 2002. He was a fun loving man who never met a stranger and truly loved people. Jimmy sang with the Messengers Gospel Group and was a longtime member of College Heights Baptist Church. He was a talented craftsman, especially with wood working. He could make anything from furniture to décor, including baskets. He collected anything having to do with railroads throughout the years. Jimmy drag raced in his younger years and had a great appreciation for old cars. He will be missed greatly by many. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents; son, Chris Lee; sisters, Betty Huston and Sharon White and brother,Horace Lee, Jr. "Beau" .
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Mildred Lee; daughter, Kara Suzanne Saunders and her husband, Keith; grandchildren, Kollin Saunders, Kyle Saunders and his wife, Ava, Kaleb Saunders, and Kasen Saunders; one great grandson on the way, Cody Blaine Saunders; siblings, Kenneth Lee and his wife, Glenda, Barbara Pitts, and Judy Moss; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
