James Marbut

Services for James W. “Jimmy” Marbut, 71, of Covington, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 26, 2015 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Larry Schneider will officiate. Burial will follow in the Covington Cemetery. Steve Hubbard, Ronnie Allen, Virgil Hilton, Doke Kiblinger, Burl D. Fowler, and Jerry Eberhart will serve as pallbearers. There will be an open visitation Sunday afternoon.

Mr. Marbut passed away in his home, surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, January 24, 2015. He was born May 13, 1943 in Covington to James Ray and Ruby Lodusky Bean Marbut. He was of the Baptist faith. He married Emma Wiese Marbut on December 23, 1982 in Cranfills Gap, Texas. Jimmy owned and operated Marbut Equipment for over 20 years. He was known as an all around, “good guy”, always helping others with a likable personality and strong work ethic. Jimmy enjoyed playing dominoes when he wasn’t working on something. His love of laughter and great sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Patsy Sullivan, Bonnie Fowler, and Dorothy Marbut.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Marbut; daughter, Sharmon Strickland and husband, Larry; son, Troy Marbut and wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Brent Marbut and wife, Amanda and Christopher Marbut; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
