James McPherson

Funeral services for James Ray McPherson, 71, of Rio Vista, will be conducted at 10: 00 A.M., Monday, January 28, 2013 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 P.M. Sunday.

J.R. McPherson passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Rio Vista. He was born to Martin Wayne and Minta Lorene Young McPherson on February 27, 1941 in Keller, Texas. J.R. married Marie E. Pride on June 26, 1982 in Keller, Texas. He was the owner and operator of Six Oaks Dairy; retiring in 1998. J.R. was of the Methodist faith. His greatest love was his family. He was the ultimate family man. J.R. was gifted with the talent of making everyone feel special, no matter what their situation might be. J.R. ‘s love for life and giving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jerry McPherson, T.J. McPherson, and Mona Jean Blevins.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Marie McPherson; children and their spouses, Josh McPherson and Lindsey, Tonya Robison and Robert, Ryan Sims and Neil, Ginny Soto and Arnold, Stacy Morgan, Happy Slaughter and Robert, and Carol Robinson and Rickey; 19 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Billy McPherson, Kenneth McPherson, Patricia White, Irene Ogle, and Betty Scott; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
