Services for James Michael Pogue, 58, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 23, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in the Greenacres Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Karl Pogue, Billy Pogue, Paul Hudgins, Chris Hudgins, Terry Alexander, Jere Dwayne Cashion, Nick Sedberry and Scotty Williams. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Thursday.
Mr. James Michael Pogue passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in Cleburne. He was born April 1, 1952 in Cleburne to Jimmie Louis and Laura Mae Warren Pogue. He married Donna Loraine Alexander on April 20, 1973 in Joshua.
James formerly worked for Santa Fe Railroad from 1971-1987 as a blacksmith. He served as a reserve police officer in Grandview in 1992-1997. He worked for Johnson County Sherriff Dept. from 1990-1999 as a correctional officer and served as Judge Bridewell's bailiff in the 249th District Court from 1999-2002. James was a member of the American Legion Post #648 in Rio Vista. He was of the Assembly of God faith.
James's passion in life was his wife, children and grandchildren. He was looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandchild.
He was a huge Elvis fan, loved oldies music and working at his computer.
James Pogue is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna Pogue of Cleburne; sons, Michael Pogue and wife Renee, Randy Brand and wife Gina; daughter, Sandi York and husband Donnie; daughter-in-law, Clementina Dryden; mother, Laura Pogue; brother, Mark Pogue and wife Pam; sister, Jacqueline Hudgins and fiance Steve Clark; 20 grandchildren, Laci, Isabella, Abigail, Lana, Greyson, Gavin, Markayla, Truitt, Sarah, Janeta, Nick, Donald James, Jimmie, Dale, Rebecca, Stephanie, Chris, Jennifer, D.J. and Sterling and his beloved cat, Elvis.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Pogue and one brother, Charlie Pogue.
