James Shankles

Service for James Shankles, 69, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 29, 2011 in the Calvary Baptist Church. The Reverend Charles E. Payne and the Reverend Donnie Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Devey Ranspot, Eric Waits, Dustin Waits, Jacob Waits, Zac Thompson and Andrew Rhea. Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Shankles passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 in Cleburne. He was born August 10, 1942 in Rusk to Lawrence and Cleo Belle Ralls Shankles. He married Dolores Masterson on August 27, 1990 in Cleburne.

James served the Lord faithfully at Calvary Baptist Church, serving as an usher, former Sunday School Teacher and Awana Leader. He was retired from Marti Electronics with 35 years service. The past several years he substituted and worked as an Inclusion Aide for Cleburne I.S.D., where he loved working with children with special needs.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores Shankles of Cleburne; step children, Jimmy Ranspot and wife Christine of Cleburne, Gina Waits and husband Steve of Rio Vista, Rhonda Rhea and husband Richie of Troy, MO and Randy Shaw of Rio Vista; nephew, Darrell Hutchins and wife Cindy of Arlington;14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Aubrey Neal Hutchins.
