James Wells

Services for James Richard "Jim" Wells, 82, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 3:30 P.M. Monday, November 1, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-5 P.M. Sunday.

Jim Wells passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 in Fort Worth. He was born January 17, 1928 in Cleburne to Phillip Richard Wells and Edith Yancey Wells. He married Doris Stepp on June 11, 1948 in Cleburne.

Mr. Wells was an assistant superintendent for the Cleburne Independent School District. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Jim was a member of the Cleburne Masonic Lodge No. 315. He was a Shriner and had just received his 60th year pin. Jim was a member of the Cleburne Lions Club, past president of Cleburne Chamber of Commerce and a member of TSTA. He was a graduate of Cleburne High School and TCU. Jim was a member of Field Street Baptist Church.

Jim Wells is survived by his wife, Doris Wells of Cleburne; two children, Jennifer Susan Curlee and Prisca Dianne Wells; four grandchildren, Kristi Lewis Dempsey, Phillip Lewis and wife Deanna, Courtney Lewis and Eric Wells; two great-grandchildren, Logan Dempsey and Elise Lewis and his beloved pet, Winston.

The family requests that memorials may be made to: CISD Scholarship in honor of James Wells.
