Service for James Alan West, 53, of Belton, will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 8, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Garry Way will officiate. Burial will be in the Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8:00 PM. at the funeral home.
James Alan West passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in Temple. He was born February 6, 1961 in Cleburne to James Elmer and Mary Frances Pope West. Alan worked for the Santa Fe, BNSF, and Kansas City Southern Railroads acquiring more than 30 years of service. He was in the Machinist Union and while in Louisiana was director of car shop operations for the Kansas City Southern Railroad. Alan enjoyed all sports but his greatest love was his family and his pet dog “Chewy”. He was of the Baptist faith. Alan will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his son, Eric Alan West of Belton, daughters Alana Deann Bradley and husband, Bobby of Morgans Point, and Haley Grace West of Belton; former wife Lesa West, grandson Trenton Pryce West, sister Vickie Carol Spears and husband Mike of Cleburne, nephew Kevin Spears and wife Tammy and their sons, Shayne and Shawn Spears, niece, Gina Whitney and husband Chad and their children, Brady and Karlie Whitney, all of Granbury, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
