Graveside service for Jane Barker, 84, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 23, 2012 in the Georges Creek Cemetery. The Reverend John Glover will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barker passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 in Ft. Worth. She was born Aug. 14, 1927 in Godley to C.E. and Goldie Garrett Vickers. She married Billy Frank "Bill" Barker on Nov. 1, 1947 in Godley.
Mrs. Barker was a retired clerk for the Santa Fe Railroad and also worked for the Johnson County Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of Field Street Baptist Church. Jane was a faithful member of Beta Sigma Phi, Texas Chapter Laureate Beta Mu. She served in all capacities for over 60 years. She was awarded several circle pins for her overpowering duties. She served 25 years as secretary. She was honored in 2005 as the Valentine Sweetheart. Jane was also a member of Silver Cross Circle of King's Daughters.
Survivors include her son, Larry W. Barker and wife Shirley; daughter, Cindy Barker Mash; nephews, Ed Randle, Grady Randle and wife, Donna; great niece and nephew, Shelly and Garret; and a special companion, her dog, Buster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Barker on July 15, 2006 and grandson, Shane Barker.
