Services for Emma Jane Cunningham, 82, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2007 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Committal service will be Saturday, April 14, 2007 in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Gorman, Texas. Mr. Kenneth Clapp, Mr. Colby Clapp and Mr. Larry Davis will officiate. Pallbearers will be Wade Lott, Glenn Lott, Mark Lott, Jerry Guy, Benny Guy, Jack Eison, Lonnie Eison, Jerald Ford and Todd Burleson.
Emma Jane Cunningham was born May 5, 1924 in Gorman, Texas to Azlee Pearcy and Luther Cunningham. Jane was the youngest of five daughters. During WWII, she worked in the Houston ship yards as a welder. She was a war bride and married Herbert Crenshaw in 1944. They had two daughters, Pamela Clapp and Sandra Ford. During her life, she was a homemaker, worked for Wood's Industries in Hillsboro, and retired from an Arlington K-Mart, after twenty years of service.
Jane was a charter member of Johnson County NAMI.
Jane is survived by her two daughters, four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Glenda Silvertooth and Wynogene Smith; two sister-in-laws, Pat Harrington and Reta Crenshaw. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jolene Gilliland and Juanita Guy; a son-in-law, Edmund Clapp and a grandson, Conrad Clapp.
American Hospice provided comfort for Jane the last month of her life, and the family greatly appreciates all of the special and personal care given to Jane and the other family members.
In addition to flowers, donations can be made to Bridge Benevolence Center in care of Westhill Church of Christ, American Hospice, Johnson County NAMI or American Cancer Society.
