Jane Buckner Standley, 82, passed from this earth January 2, 2007, after a courageous struggle with lung and breast cancer. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2007 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Jane Buckner Standley was born October 16, 1924 , the daughter of W.H. and Belva M. Ogletree Hardin. Born and reared in Cleburne, she attended Cleburne schools and graduated from Cleburne High School in 1942. She was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1952 and a 50-year-plus member of the Order of the Eastern Star, No. 530, Granbury.
In her sons' earlier years, she was active in the PTA and other school activities and was a cub scout den mother.
Jane Buckner Standley is survived by her children, John W. and Mary Margaret Martin of Arlington, H. (Pecos) and Jeanne Martin of Cleburne, and Rusell I. (Rusty) Buckner of Austin; two granddaughters, Wendi Martin and Misti J. Martin and extended family, The Lonnie D. Gossett Family. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Memorials are to be made to: The Salvation Army, if friends so desire.
