There will be a Memorial Celebration for Janice Oliver, 76, of Fort Worth on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 6:30 P.M., at Fellowship of Love Outreach, 1500 Circle Park Blvd., Fort Worth, 76164. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 28, 2023 in Rosehill Cemetery. Pastor Stacey Fox will officiate.
Janice passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 in Fort Worth. She was born January 8, 1947 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Marion “M.A.” Allen and Betty Louise (Compton) Oliver. Janice worked as a LVN for over 35 years at various hospitals, retiring at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. She was known as a dedicated individual with a strong will and independent nature. Janice was extremely involved in her church, Fellowship of Love Outreach, where she was active for 37 years as a charter member and church treasurer. She volunteered with the Tarrant County PRIDE Association for many years, organizing and participating in the annual PRIDE week celebrations. Janice also volunteered at The Bridge The Gap Outreach and with HELP (Health Education Learning Project), both organizations focusing on HIV testing and education. She was able to support and provide resources for at-risk youth through her efforts with HOME, an outreach of her church. She touched many lives throughout her journeys and impacted even more. Janice will be greatly missed by the many that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sister, Susan Van Diver; brother, George Oliver; aunts, Estene Gunn and Joy Morris; along with a host of other relatives including her God Daughter, Skeetora Taylor; special nieces, Stephanie Zollinger and Carolyn Gilmore; and special friends, Dianne Dunivan, Pastor Stacey Fox, Karen & Tonya Seimears, and Curtis Wallace.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; life partner of 40 years, Joyce Raines; siblings, Jan Marie, Peggy Jean, Betty Dian, Patsy Gail and Robert Michael; and nephew, Mark Abbott.
