Service for Janie Gilbreth, 97, of Joshua will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 16, 2015 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Burleson. Committal will be at 4:00 P.M., Friday, in Sulphur Springs City Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, TX. Pallbearers will be Michael McCorkle, Matthew McCorkle, Philip McCorkle, Bill McCorkle, Jack Scott, and Skylar Buras. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Janie Gilbreth passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 in Crowley. She was born November 10, 1917 in McGregor, TX to James B. and Vivian Cormany Land. She married Joe Clyde Gilbreth on January 1, 1939 in Falfurrias, TX and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Gilbreth was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to many. She loved serving her friends and neighbors in need. She was a retired school teacher and also a private piano, violin, and voice teacher. She was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Cleburne, TX. Janie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughters, Vivian Sue Gilbreth of Kansas City, MO and JoAnn McCorkle and husband Bill of Joshua, TX; grandchildren, Michael McCorkle, Matthew McCorkle, Philip McCorkle, Evelyn Clemons, Veronica Andrew, and Leighann Buras; great grandchildren, Lilly Clemons, Kaylan Clemons, Alyssa Clemons, Ethan Andrew, Hailey Andrew, Lauren Andrew, Devin Andrew, Evangeline Buras, Adeline McCorkle, and Orion McCorkle; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Joseph McCorkle and great grandson, Garrett Andrew.
