Janie Marie "Mawie" Sparks

Service for Janie Marie “Mawie” Sparks, 86, of Joshua will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in the Union Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Saturday, at the funeral home.

Janie Marie “Mawie” Sparks passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018 in Glen Rose. She was born Sept. 19, 1931 in Joshua to Silas Elbert and Mary Alice Shipley Miller. She married Billy Jack Sparks on Aug. 21, 1948 in Cleburne.Mrs. Sparks was a homemaker and a member of the Union Hill Presbyterian Church of Joshua.

Survivors include her two sons, Dennis Sparks and wife Brenda of Rainbow and Levi Sparks and wife Linda of Rowlett; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Rita Kay Wolverton of Joshua and Alice Payne and husband Harley of Garland; brother, Elbert “Teet” Miller of Joshua; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Lee Whitworth of Benbrook and Wanda Sparks of Glen Rose. She was also preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Jack Sparks in 2008; daughter, Marilyn Beth Sparks; brother, James “Bud” Miller and a great grandson, Lanny Jay Ice.
