Services for Jay Beal, devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, 66, of Grandview, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 9, 2010 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Interment will follow in the Odom Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday.
Leonard Jackson (Jay) Beal, III was born January 7, 1944 in Arizona to Leonard Jackson, Jr. and Juanita Faye Mote Beal. Jay passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He married Val Hamilton on June 21, 1969 in Bellflower, CA. He was a longtime member of Sand Flat Baptist Church. Jay retired after 30 years service as a Plant Maintenance Technologist with Miller Brewing Company. Jay, also know as "Grandpa" by his grandchildren was a man's man with a tender heart. He loved to farm and spend time outdoors. Jay was an animal lover, especially his horses and cattle. He was known for having strong beliefs and a sense of responsibility. Jay's loving spirit and giving nature will be missed greatly by all those that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Faye Reed; step father, Byron Reed, Sr.; and sister, Madie Deaton.
Survivors include his wife of almost 41 years, Val Beal; father, Leonard J. Beal, Jr. and his wife, Anna; children and their spouses, Sheral and Walter Brumbalow, Rhonda and Johnny Taylor, Jason Beal, and Eric Beal; grandchildren, David Allen, Royce Allen, Nathan Taylor, Mark Taylor, Valerie Argumaniz, and Melissa Taylor; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Juan Beal, Belinda Smart, LaQuita Davis, Norma Dupree, Nova Thomas, Darla Anderson, Donna Phipps, Judy Small, and Byron Reed, Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
