Jay Tarter

Service for Jay Tarter, 51, of Nemo will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 20, 2012 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in the Faulkenbury Cemetery in Johnson County. Pallbearers will be Merle Newton, Larry Mason, Nick Bumpass, Victor Cox, John Wells and Dan Dunn. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Tarter passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012. He was born April 19, 1961 in Arlington to William Martin, Sr. and Jeanette Ratliff Tarter. He was a project manager for Pac Systems, Inc. Jay was an avid fisherman, hunter and excellent golfer. He loved being on the river. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his fiancee, Tammy Denise Thompson of Nemo; parents, Bill and Ruth Ann Tarter of Nemo and Jeanette and Butch Helms of Cleburne; son, Trey Tarter of Alvarado; daughter, Jessica Powell and husband, Andrew of Corsicana; sister, Cyndi Murphree and husband, Clovis of Burleson and Deann Golightly of Ft. Worth; three grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Byron Scott and a sister, Tammy Renee Tarter
