Jay Wood passed away Friday, February 11, 2005 in Cleburne. He was born July 3, 1938 in Lubbock, Texas to Marvin Edward and Ella Agnes Wenderborn Wood. He married Billie Louise Newsome on May 28, 1971 in Ft. Worth.
Mr. Wood was a construction supervisor, a veteran of the U. S. Army, and was of the Baptist faith.
Jay Wood is survived by Billie Wood of Cleburne; son, Tyler Wood and wife Amy of Aubrey, Tx.; two daughters, Vicki Wright and husband Tom of The Colony, Tx and Meagan Wood of Ft. Worth; twin brother, Ray Wood and wife Nita of Lubbock, Tx.; sister, Marlene Davis of Vian, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Chelsea Philbrick of Cornith, Morgan Wood of Aubrey and Kamron Bates of Ft. Worth; mother-in-law, Helen Horn of Joshua; four sister-in-laws, Nan Sullivan of Cleburne, Kay Robles and husband Tom of Ft. Worth, Pat Cornelius and husband Jim of Graford and Cindy Newsome of Glen Rose; a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two nephews, Jay Brent Peacock and Michael Wood; father-in-law, Earl Newsome; step father-in-law, Dick Horn and brother-in-law, Mack Newsome.
