JB Smith

Service for JB Smith, 98, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, March 13, 2015 in the First Baptist Church of Kopperl. The Reverend Ted Evartt will officiate. Burial will be in Kopperl Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Boyd Hamilton, Jeffrey Hamilton, John Michael Campbell, Danny Armstrong, Mike Campbell, Rad Runyon, Logan Runyon, and Butch Coin.

Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.

JB Smith passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 in Cleburne. He was born June 21, 1916 in Bosque County to Robert Lee and Lucy Frances Bush Smith. He married Vivian Odell Kuykendall on June 21, 1937 in Kopperl and she preceded him in death on March 1, 2010.

Mr. Smith was a longtime farmer, rancher and a member of Kopperl Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Peggy Evartt and husband Ted of Cleburne, Patsy Coin and husband Butch of Kopperl, and Barbara Barnett and husband Wayne of Walling Bend; son, James Smith and wife Anita of Kopperl; daughter-in-law, Janie Smith of Kopperl; 15 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, numerous other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Herman Smith; four great grandchildren; and two infant brothers.
