Visitation for J.D. Davenport, 65, of Ft. Worth will be conducted from 2:00-4:00 P.M., Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home, with military honors presented at 2:00 P.M.
J.D. Davenport passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in Dallas. He was born Nov. 27, 1947 in Gainesville.
Mr. Davenport served his country in the United States Army, during the Vietnam Era. He loved to travel across the United States. He especially liked the ocean, fishing and dancing. He was known as the ultimate man in black. He was an avid reader, especially war and science fiction. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Whitley; children, Barbara Rorick and husband Craig, Traci Thetford, and Jonathan Davenport and fiance Erin; grandchildren, Lori, Amber, Russell, Stephanie, Justin and Sena; great grandchildren, Marli, Ryan, Jace and Novalee; siblings, Lynn Brownlee and Riley Walters, Shelia Newton and Jesse Whitley and wife Marcie; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Whitley; grandson Ryan Lee Rowlett and sister, Pat Whitley.
