J.D. Peacock

Services for J.D. Peacock, 81, of Covington, will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Chaplain Ed Stauffer will officiate. Burial will be in Burleson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wesley Peacock, Barry Peacock, Jeromy Peacock. Matt Rhidenour, Dusty Wells and James Peacock. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.

J.D. Peacock passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 in Cleburne. He was born November 26, 1927 in Ft. Worth to William Earl and Sally Ruth Brown Peacock. He married Edith Louise Gay on January 2, 1948 in Ft. Worth.

Mr. Peacock served in the US Navy and retired after 36 years of service as a District Chief for the City of Ft. Worth Fire Department. He was a member of the AFL Local #440 and Grandview Methodist Church.

J.D. Peacock is survived by his wife, Edith Peacock of Covington; sons, Randy Peacock and wife, Leona of Covington, Gary Peacock and wife, Coelene of Covington and Jay Peacock and wife, Konnie of Cleburne; daughter, Cynthia Wells and husband, Dusty of Burleson; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Weldon, Ken and Don; sister, Janis Arnold and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita Farris and Dexter Peacock, Buddy Peacock and Ed Peacock.
