J.E. Meeks

Service for J.E. Meeks, 86, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in the Henderson Street Baptist Church. Mr. James Healer will officiate.

Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

J.E. Meeks passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 in Cleburne. He was born July 3, 1928 in Merkel, TX to Ernest and Hosea Lena Myers Meeks. He married Catherine Phillips on August 12, 1950 in Merkel.

Reverend Meeks was a retired Southern Baptist Minister with 50 years of service at several churches in Texas, including Henderson Street Baptist Church, Big Spring, Brownwood, Muleshoe and Midland. His love for the Lord and his family will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Meeks of Cleburne; daughter, Gail McCool and husband Steve of Cleburne; sons, Rickey Meeks and wife Tonya of Merkel and Jeff Meeks and wife Nikki of Cleburne; grandchildren, Lea Pastewski and husband John of Addison, IL, Chad Lackey and wife Jessica of Oklahoma City, OK, Rendi Owen and husband Stephen of Lubbock, Landry Meeks and wife Meghan of Merkel, Whitney Meeks of Abilene, Kainan Tabor and Breeanna Tabor, both of Cleburne; six great grandchildren, Andrew, Aaron, Adam, Carson, Dax, and McKenna; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
