A memorial service for Jerry Weldon Landers Sr., 71, of Cleburne will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the home of Jerry Landers Jr.

Jerry Weldon Landers passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 in Fort Worth. He was born July 28, 1942 in Cleburne to Norman Weldon and Mary Louise Pickens Landers. He married Delana Louise Fisher on June 12, 1964 in Fort Worth and she preceded him in death on July 8, 1989.

Mr. Landers worked as a truck driver, retiring from Central Freight with 18 years of service. He was a fun, loving man who loved to laugh. Jerry had a big heart and never met a stranger. He loved tinkering in the garage and was an avid Texas Rangers fan. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church. His strong will and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his children, Jerry W. Landers Jr. and wife Esther, Rebecca Lynn Landers Groom and husband Terry, Deborah Renee Landers, Tamara Kay Landers, and Bryan Dean Landers and wife Leigh; grandchildren, Rebekah, Catherine, Kirsten, Kaitlyn, Madison, Brandon, Harlie, and Anabelle; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy Landers, Beverly Brown, Larry Landers, and Norma Lou Elliott; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a son, James Allen Landers.
