Memorial services will be held for Jesse Wayne Brown, 69, of Rio Vista, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 10, 2021 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Funeral Chapel. A reception will follow at his home for family and friends.
Mr. Brown passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021 in Rio Vista, Texas. He was born June 15, 1952 in Dallas, Texas. Jesse worked as a long-haul truck driver for over 20 years with Safety Kleen. He was of Christian faith. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. Jesse was a family man. He adored his grandchildren, who call him “Pappy”. Jesse was a loyal friend who never met a stranger. He enjoyed the many hours he spent in his garage or fishing with his family and friends. He was a giving man, who was always willing to help others. He spent countless hours in his garage working on things for others, which always brought him joy to do. He was an avid gardener as well. Jesse was one of a kind and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Louise Blankenship Authement; step mother, Edna Brown; twin sister, Terry Meadows; sister, Debbie Bertrand; and first wife, Mahala Jackson Brown.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Lacey Brown; grandchildren, Leonie Brown and Jaxon Brown; father, Jerry Dwain Brown; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Regina Brown; step siblings, Sherry Latimer, John Mullins, Mike Mullins, and Patty Mullins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends, including many nieces and nephews and former wife, Janet Wright.
