Service for Jesse “Clyde” Jones, 86, of Rio Vista will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016 in the First Baptist Church of Rio Vista. The Reverend Neale Oliver and the Reverend Alan Boyd will officiate. Burial will be in Rio Vista Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Craig Tuley, Max Jones, Dakota Jones, Travis Cavender, Trevor Cavender, Richard Martinez, Ty McMahan, and John Hedgpeth. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Massey, Cliff Rotenberry, Chester Rotenberry, Tommy Rotenberry, and Ray Watson.
Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Jesse “Clyde” Jones passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2016 in Ft. Worth. He was born June 22, 1929 in the Watts Chapel Community in Johnson County to Marvin Wilson and Velma Irene Weeks Jones. He married Georgia Lee Ledbetter on July 13, 1968 in Johnson County.
Mr. Jones worked as a supervisor for Kimbell Food, with 28 years of service. He was also employed by Johnson County Precinct 1 for 14 years and the City of Rio Vista for 23 years. Clyde was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rio Vista.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Georgia Jones of Rio Vista; five children, Linda Jones and husband Virgil of Cleburne, Brenda Hall and husband Joe of Pampa, Marvin Jones of Stephenville, Susan Cavender of Rio Vista, and J. Clyde Jones, Jr. of Rio Vista; 12 grandchildren, Craig, Jarrad, Sandi, Sheri, Misty, Ty, Piper, Dakota, Max, Trevor, Travis, and Traci; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Pauline Beasley of Keene; aunt, Ora Alcon of Ft. Worth; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Helen Jones in 1961; daughter, Paula Jones in 1952; and great grandchild, Mason Smith.
