James (Jim) M. Condray, age 75, loving father and a dear friend to many, died in his home on Monday, July 3, 2006, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 16, 1931, in Paris, Texas, to the late Jesse and Vera Condray. He graduated from Texas A&M in May 1958 with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force during the end of the Korean War, servicing and teaching mechanics on various war planes. He worked as a mechanical engineer and control designer for Caterpillar, involved in sales and service for the southeast United States.
Jim attended Godley United Methodist Church. He was well-known in the Joshua, Cleburne and Burleson area for his friendly nature and engaging conversation. In earlier days, he was an avid fisherman and hunter, he thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, storytelling, helping out others in times of need, motorcycle riding, skiing, teasing, and spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his former spouse, Ann Condray, his oldest daughter, Linda Condray-North, his youngest daughter, Diane Williams and her husband, Mike, two grandchildren, Kimberly Campbell and Cy Williams, two great grandchildren, Carly and Cash Campbell. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Jesse Jr., Bob, George, Gene, and David.
Funeral services for Jim Condray will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 8, at Godley United Methodist Church, 624 N. Pearson. The Rev. Robert "Rudy" Rudewick, pastor, will officiate the service.
