Graveside service for Jim Brown “Jimmy” Lane, Jr., 82, of Joshua, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in Greenacres Memorial Park. Pastor Carroll Walker will officiate. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, January 2, 2023, at the funeral home.
Jimmy passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in Joshua. He was born April 28, 1940, in Stamps, Arkansas to Jim Brown Lane, Sr., and Elsie Austin (Hatcher) Lane. He was a member of Crowley Assembly of God Church. His dedication and strong faith were at the center of his life. Church was extremely important to him. He was loved by everyone. Jimmy was a great storyteller with a vivid imagination. Being outside working in the yard brought him countless hours of enjoyment. His love of his Lord, sweet spirit and hard-working nature will be missed greatly by those he leaves behind.
He is survived by his daughters, Rosemary Lane, and Marie Lane; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Sisk, Joyce JoAnna Smith, and Julia Testerman; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents (listed above); children, Jimmy Lee Lane, Naomi Ruth Lane, and John Matthew Lane; brother, Marshall Lane; and sister, Annie Peek.
