Jimmie passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 in Cleburne. He was born July 27, 1941 in Joshua to David Garrison and Nellie Mae (Wilson) Locker. Jimmie married Martha Gene Lewis on March 24, 1967 in Cleburne. He was a devoted Christian and a deacon at Central Church of Christ and an active member of Westhill Church of Christ. Jimmie worked as a dispatcher for Santa Fe Railroad for 15 years and Fort Worth and Western Railroad for 10 years. He served in the Texas National Guard. Jimmie was outgoing and quite the jokester, always kept you on your toes. He was kindhearted and enjoyed visiting with folks. If you were lucky enough, he even gave you a nickname. He believed in doing things right, making him a perfectionist when it came to his cars. Jimmie was a car enthusiast, a collector of railroad memorabilia, and belonged to a “coffee mafia” group. He also enjoyed bowling and fishing. Jimmie will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his sons, David Locker and wife, Teela, Clint Locker and wife, Amy, and Garrison Locker; grandchildren, Ana Locker, Reid Locker, Cade Locker, and Dawson Locker; nieces, Pam Forrester, Paula Hardee Bellar and husband, Monty, and Polly Forsythe and husband, Mike; and a host of other family members and friends, including his church family.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life wife, Martha Gene Locker (2007); and brother, Bobby Gene Locker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Leukemia Society, 1200 Summit, Suite 440, Fort Worth, Texas 76102, in honor of his wife, Martha Gene Locker.
