Services of Jimmy Van Linton, 73, of Cleburne, will be conducted Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Michael Watts will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday at the funeral home.
Jimmy Linton died Sunday, January 26, 2020, in Granbury. He was born June 5, 1946 in Cleburne to Joyce “Jack” Clyde and Vada Flora (Scott) Linton. He married Janis Faye Hanson in Dallas, Texas on November 14, 1969.
He was drafted in the U.S. Army at age 18. He was stationed in Germany as a signalman. After serving 4 years in the Army, he worked for A.T. & T. and retired after 45 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and a devout Christian.
Survivors include is wife, Janis Linton; son, Bryan Linton and wife Tammy; granddaughters, Jaci Linton and Tiffany Linton; brothers, Orren Linton and wife Frances, and John Linton and wife Judy Grace; sister, Gloria Jean Phillips and husband Roy; sisters-in-law, Martha Linton and Judy Louise Linton.
He was preceded in death by his parent; brothers, Jack Linton and Gerrell Linton; and sister, Boncil McCoy.
