Funeral services for Jimmy Jones Scott, 60, of Cleburne, will be conducted at noon Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012. in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Rev. Donald Earl will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Scott entered into eternal rest Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, in Fort Worth.
He entered this world on June 16, 1952, in Johnson County to James Finley and Velma Lee Patterson Scott. Jimmy served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany for a period of time. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked over 35 years with John’s Manville and was a member of the union there.
Jimmy was known as a hard working man who was both compassionate and kind. He was a true gentleman and an inspiration to other men. He was a family man in every aspect of the phrase. He enjoyed playing bingo and traveling. Jimmy’s sense of style and love for life will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Annie Scott and brother, Bobby Scott.
Survivors include his parents, James Finley and Velma Lee Scott; children, Jimmy Jones Scott Jr., Pamela Denise Lacy and husband, Ricky, and Marcus Hasani Grant and wife, Chouly; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; siblings, Mary Washington, Brenda Prather and Charles G. Scott; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
