Services for Joan Evelyn Peal Smith, 61, of Burleson, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2007 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel.

Joan Evelyn Peal Smith passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007 in Ft. Worth. She was born June 23, 1945 in Corpus Christi, TX to Nolan Albert and Evelyn Peal. She married James T. Smith on December 18, 1965 in Corpus Christi, TX. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Joan Smith is survived by her husband, James Thomas Smith of Burleson; sons, James Nolan Smith and wife Vicky of Burleson and Craig Allen Smith and wife Angel of Burleson ; daughters, Lori Denise Franklin of Burleson and Shelly Marie Mitchell and husband Gary of Burleson; 8 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; four brothers, Bud Peal and wife Jody of Corpus Christi, Charlie Peal and wife Cathy of Corpus Christi; Jim Peal and Bruce Peal and wife Julie of Waco; 2 sisters, Elaine Freeman and husband Dennis of Houston and Karen Bethel and husband Pat of Loudon, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nolan and Evelyn Peal.
