Graveside service for JoAnn Bates, 67, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 13, 2022, in the Venus Memorial Park, Venus, Texas. Chaplain Eddy Carrell will officiate services. Although there is no visitation, family and friends are welcome to sign the book at the funeral home prior to Thursday.
JoAnn was born to Joseph D. and Sarah C. Lee Kitchens on December 28, 1954, in Johnson County, Texas. She was married to Charlie Frank Bates in 1975. JoAnn was of the Baptist faith. She worked over 25 years with Wal-Mart in Cleburne. JoAnn was a sweet and giving lady, who often put the needs of others above herself. She was a caretaker to several loved ones throughout her lifetime. In her younger years, she and Charlie enjoyed camping. More recently she spent time watching Perry Mason and playing computer games. Her loving spirit and big-hearted nature will be missed greatly by those she leaves behind. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Katherine Vaughan, Billy Kitchens and Wayne Kitchens.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Darlene Bates; grandchildren, Destiny Faulkner and her husband, Steve, Jazmine Ellis, William Davis, Shia Davis, Madison Bates and Noah Bates; great grandchildren, Landon, Carson, Rowdy, Mila, Everleigh and Bentlee; brother, David Kitchens; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
