A Celebration of Life for Jo Ann “Jo” Hollingsworth-Clayton, 85, of Covington, Texas will be held at Church of Christ at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in Covington. Mr. Barry Pritchard and Mr. Joseph Chase will officiate.
Jo passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, in Burleson, Texas. She was born December 13, 1936, in Silverton, Texas to William Jordan and Gladys Lillian (Baird) Hollingsworth. Jo married Jerry Wayne Clayton on December 12, 1953, in Tulia, Texas. They were married 55 years before his passing on November 28, 2009. She was a member of Church of Christ in Covington. Jo had a strong faith in her Lord and was very active in her church. She was extremely outgoing and never met a stranger. Jo was an animal lover, especially dogs. She was a thrift shopper extraordinaire, always looking for a good bargain. Jo enjoyed playing piano and loved to sing. She will be greatly missed.
Jo was preceded by her parents; husband; son, Bruce Clayton; and grandchildren, Brandi, Jacob and Josh.
She is survived by her children, Rex Clayton and spouse, Nabiha, Roma Martin and spouse, Stan, Jolanda Simpson, and Todd Clayton and spouse, Lori; daughter-in-law, Julie Clayton; grandchildren, David, Garret, Christina, Jandaly, Wayne and Cirrie, Ky and Amy, Bobby, Monty, Donna, Sara, Olivia, Amber, Justin, Christopher, Lauren, and Brady; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; siblings, Peggy Rowell and spouse, W.D., Jack Hollingsworth and spouse, Jan; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
