Joe Applegate

Service for Joe Dan Applegate, 67, of Itasca, will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 28, 2021 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Matthew Bross will officiate. Burial will follow in Covington Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7:00 P.M., Sunday, June 27, 2021 at the funeral home.

Joe Dan Applegate passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 in Itasca. He was born to Bobby Dan and Nancy Jane Basye Applegate on January 30, 1954 in Cleburne. He married Carla Brunson Applegate on May 28, 2010 in Hill County. Joe was a metal fitter for Lockheed Martin. He retired from Lockheed Martin after 32 years of service working on F-16’s, F-22’s and F-35’s. Joe was a member of Open Range Cowboy Church in Whitney.

Joe is survived by his wife, Carla Applegate of Itasca; daughters, Jodi Applegate Bross and husband, Matt of Paris, Missouri, Kalea Almond and husband, Roy of Ennis; mother, Nancy Jane Cathey and husband, Tom of Covington; father-in-law, Bob Weadon of Cleburne; mother-in-law, Sara Beth Weadon of Cleburne; sisters, Robin Johnson of Hillsboro, Kristi Wilson of Perrin; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a dad and grandpa to many other kids.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Dan; sister, Sonja and niece, Lexi.
