Memorial service for Joe B. Ballew, U.S. Army (Ret.), 88, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 in the First United Methodist Church of Cleburne. The Reverend George Sutton will officiate. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 A.M., Friday, prior to the service.
Joe B. Ballew passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 in Cleburne. He was born April 25, 1927 in Cleburne to Jesse Carlisle and Mable Ruth Hagle Ballew. He married Martha Kimbell on Nov. 21, 1973 in Ft. Worth.
Mr. Ballew served in both the United States Navy and the Army for 22 years. He then worked as a fraud and forgery investigator for Bank of America until retiring. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Cleburne.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Martha Ballew of Cleburne; daughters, Sheri Bartay of Watauga and Jeri Boswell of Atlanta, TX; stepdaughters, Pamela Clark of Ontario, CA and Michelle Whitley of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Joyce Gilbreath of Kerrville; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Wayne Jones.
