Service for Joe Eberhart, 94, of Alvarado will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Chaplain Nancy Schneider will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Choate, Jerry Eberhart, Jr., Trent Eberthart, Trevor Eberhart, Ronnie Dingler, and Tommy Reynolds. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at the funeral home.
Joe Eberhart passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016 in Grandview. He was born Dec. 18, 1921 in Johnson County to Joe Lawrence, Sr. and Katy Corbin Eberhart. He married Juanita Miles on April 18, 1942 in Johnson County.
Mr. Eberhart served in the United States Navy and worked as a machinist for the Santa Fe Railroad before retiring. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to many. He was a member of Buel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Juanita Eberhart of Grandview; daughter, Nita Choate of Grandview; sons, Jerry Eberhart and wife Janice of Rio Vista and Joe Eberhart, III of Alvarado; grandchildren, Sherry, Jerry, Jr., Linda, Julie, Jeff, Scotty, and Mandy; numerous great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; sister, Polly Whitehead; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lawrence Eberhart; and sister, Elizabeth O’Neal.
