John Bonham

Services for John P. Bonham, 83, of Joshua will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 11, 2011 in the Lane Prairie Baptist Church. Graveside: 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 14, 2011 in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 10, 2011 in the funeral home.

Mr. Bonham passed away Monday, February 7, 2011 in Joshua. He was born to James (Jim) W. and Della Monon Timmins Bonham on October 14, 1927 in Pilot Point, Texas. John was of the Baptist faith. He was a family man; a loving father and adoring grandfather. John served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a patriotic man, and longtime member of the VFW in Arlington. He was a selfless and outgoing, people person. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, dominoes and working on lawnmowers. His love for life and inspirational spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois Wolfe Bonham; infant son, Bobby Wayne Bonham; son in law, Monty Echols; and brothers, James, Leo, Gene and Zane Bonham.

Survivors: Daughter, Lorrie Echols; granddaughter, Rachel Echols; siblings, Jack Bonham, Oscar Bonham, Eva Whitehead, Nelda Steadman, and Roger Bonham; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
