Graveside service for John Joseph Kane, Jr., 98, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 5, 2024, in Greenacres Memorial Park with Chaplain Major Jose Wallace officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Douglas Wayne Vidler, Steven Wade Vidler, and Andrew Kane Vidler.

 

John passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 31, 2024. He was born January 10, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio to John Joseph Kane, Sr., and Alvena Mary (Clark) Kane. He proudly served his country, during WWII, as a Marine, in the Pacific Theater. He retired from Litton Microwave Cooking Products in 1990. He loved his family and enjoyed being outdoors. John had many hobbies and kept very active until the end of his life.

 

Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his loving daughter, Christine (Darren) Vidler of Cleburne, his grandson’s, Douglas (Marshelle) of Cleburne, Steven (Shavon) of Blum and Andrew Vidler of Cleburne; his precious great-grandchildren, Jayden Michelle, Lynlee Hope, Logan Alexander and Tanner Joe Vidler; and his sister, Kathleen Hayton of Ohio.

 

Preceding him in death are his parents; his sons, John Joseph Kane, III on March 31, 1972 and James Paul Kane on April 28, 2013; his siblings, Margaret Maresh, Elizabeth Kane, Robert and James Kane, all of Ohio.

 

The family would like to express their gratitude to Aleve Care Hospice for their compassion and support while he was under their care.
