John Lunsford

Service for John W. Lunsford, 83, of Grandview will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Tommy Johnston will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darryl Van Zandt, Ivan Hambright, Brandon Van Zandt, Sean Van Zandt, Cody Hambright and Daniel Hambright. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Lunsford passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012 in Grandview. He was born Oct. 7, 1928 in Ft. Worth to John P. and Ruby Mae McLaughlin Lunsford. He married Joyce Dawkins on Dec. 16, 1958 in Ft. Worth.

Mr. Lunsford served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer and of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joyce Lunsford of Grandview; two daughters, Joyce Van Zandt and husband Darryl and Teresa Hambright and husband Ivan, all of Grandview; son, John W. Lunsford, Jr. and wife Trena of Hitchcock, TX; five grandsons, Brandon Van Zandt and wife Courtney of Lewisville, Sean VanZandt of Denton, Cody Hambright of Grandview, Daniel Hambright of Grandview and Logan Lunsford of Pottsville, Ark.; one brother Ray Lunsford and wife Carol of Irving and several other relatives and
friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
