John McDaniel

Services for John Thomas "J.T." McDaniel, 79, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Rev. Charles E. Payne will officiate. Burial will in Grange Hall Cemetery, Rio Vista, TX . Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Ryan Barone, Dayton Barone, Jory McDaniel, Jeremy McDaniel, Josh Brown, Justin Anderson, Lee Whitehead and Chris Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary McDaniel, Dan McDaniel, Roger McDaniel, Marty McDaniel, Kelly McDaniel and John Thomas McDaniel.

John Thomas "J.T." McDaniel, lifelong musician, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in his home surrounded by his loving wife of 54 years and family.

He was born May 31, 1929 to Floyd and Elizabeth (Lizzy) McDaniel in Blum, TX.

Mr. McDaniel was a musician, an equipment operator, loving husband, doting father and grandfather, avid fisherman, sportsman and polio survivor. He spent years at the Grandview nursing home sharing his musical talent.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lizzy McDaniel; father, Floyd McDaniel; brother, Calvin "C.C." McDaniel and sister, Doris Compton.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy McDaniel; brother Floyd McDaniel and wife, Annie of North Dakota; daughter, Lana Roach and husband, Max of Long Branch; son, Tim McDaniel and wife, Rhonda of Grandview; daughter, Vicki Smalley and husband, Benson of Burleson and daughter, Carol Ann and husband, Mike of Cleburne. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and their spouses; sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces as well as several great nephews and nieces.

He will be missed by all.
