John Morgan

Service for John L. Morgan, 90, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Charles E. Payne will officiate. Pallbearers will be Rex Campbell, James Gilbreath, Joey Gilbreath, Justin Braswell, Joe Applegate and Daniel Gunnels. Burial will be at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday in the Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Morgan passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 in Cleburne. He was born June 20, 1921 in Avery to John William and Ethel Viola Harvey Morgan.

Mr. Morgan served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was a former time keeper with the LTV Corporation.

Survivors include his nieces, Shirley Winters, Marcelle Straub and Barbara Parmer; nephews, James K. Meadows, Michael Pitts, Ronald Allen and Dennis Allen; a special caregiver and also his great niece, Sandra Campbell and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gussie Meadows, Nevelle Morgan, Sylvia Braden, Ruth Allen and Elaine Pitts; niece, Gaynelle Meadows; and nephews, Therman Pitts, Jr. and Donnie Braden.
