John Patton
John Patton, better known by his nickname, "Pat", went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 16, 2009, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Center after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel, 512 N. Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne with Chaplain Mather Owen officiating.
Pat was born November 1, 1933 in Cass County, Indiana to Oliver and Orma Patton. In 1952, he joined the Air Force where he served until retiring in 1973. Pat married Agnes Joan Baker of Belfast, Northern Ireland on April 21, 1962 in Riverside, California. They traveled while stationed at various Air Force bases including the Philippines and Portugal.
After retiring from the Air Force, Pat worked as a mail sorter at the U.S. Postal Service where he also retired. He also worked as a mechanic at Forrest Chevrolet and Jeff England Motor Company. He received an Associates degree in Applied Science Automotive Service Technology in December 1981 from Tarrant County Junior College.
Pat was a big Dallas Cowboy and Texas Rangers baseball fan. He enjoyed going to the Ranger games and sitting on the balcony in center field.
Pat was preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Landers.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Patton; daughter, Sharon Patton; son, Billy Patton and his wife, Paula; granddaughter, Amber Clayton and husband, Trevor; grandson, Mark Patton; great-grandsons, Braceon Landers, Justin Clayton, Koby and Kahner Clayton; aunts, Rosalea Mick and Sarah Maerz; uncle, John Britton; sisters, Violet Verville and husband, James; Emma Resteau and husband, Bruce; Rosemary Bauer and husband, Ron; Lillie McCollough and husband, Ron; Debbie Dow and husband, Richard; and numerous, cousins, nieces and nephews.
