John Edwin Redmon, 84, of Cleburne passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 in McKinney. He was born on Jan. 27, 1932 to Agile Hugh and Natalie Mary Collins Redmon in Brownwood. He married Jacquelyn White on Aug. 31, 1955. John proudly served his country as a pilot in the United States Air Force, retiring after 22 years of service as a Lt. Colonel. After retiring, he went on to become Administrator at Harris Methodist Hospital in Cleburne. John was very active in community service as a 36 year active member and past President of the Cleburne Lions Club with 30 years of perfect attendance; and a founding member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. He was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels and has saved many lives with over 20 gallons of blood personally donated.
John is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Redmon of Cleburne; his son, James A. Redmon and wife, Sandra of Frisco; nephews, James J. and John G. Redmon, their wives, Kristy and Sandy; niece, Colleen Carroll, their respective families; and numerous other loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Dr. Agile Redmon, Jr. and his wife Dora.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, January 26, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Chris Stainbrook will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Cleburne. Visitation/Reception will be held from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
