John Sweet

Service for John Joseph Sweet, Jr., 72, of Godley will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, in the First United Methodist Church of Godley. Pastor Rudy Rudewick will officiate. Committal will be in the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
John Joseph Sweet, Jr. passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 in Ft. Worth. He was born June 28, 1943 in Manhattan, NY to John Joseph and Eleanor Elliott Sweet. He married Lyn Carla-Louise Trombly in 1977 in FL. and she preceded him in death on April 1, 2012.
Mr. Sweet served in the United States Army and then worked at ABF Freight until retiring. He was a volunteer fireman in Godley and worked for Hanna Dairy until his passing. John was a loving father, grand-and great grandfather, uncle, and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children, Diane Sweet, Donna Sweet, and Shawn Sweet and wife Jess, all of CT, Michelle Cash and husband Jason of Haslet, Maureen Reinholtz and husband Gerry and Lisa Doud, all of CT; grandchildren, Jacob, Micayla, Laura, Adam, Jessica, Deborah, Randy, Cole, Luke, and Oksana; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
