John Tucker
Service for John Melvin Tucker, 81, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, June 1, 2012 in the Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson. Dr. Terry Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Joshua with military honors. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home.
John Melvin Tucker passed away Monday, May 28, 2012 in Ft. Worth. He was born April 17, 1931 in Frisco to John Adam and Letha Louise Brown Tucker. He married Barbara Dean French on July 1, 1955 in Cleburne.
Mr. Tucker was a retired tool and die maker in the aerospace and oil industry for many years, with the last 12 being owner of Rocker T Die Company. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Burleson Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and Scottish Rites. He enjoyed cattle ranching and farming, as well as gardening. John was a family man in every sense of the phrase. He enjoyed traveling cross country and gambling. John had many friends throughout his lifetime. His outgoing nature and love for life will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Barbara Tucker; children, Sheryl McCoy and husband Lyle, Greg Tucker and wife Brenda, and Jeff Tucker and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Misty McCoy, Stefanie McCoy, Tiffanie Winchester and husband Calvin and Cole Tucker and wife Miranda; great grandson, Graycen Henderson and a great granddaughter on the way; brother, Jack Tucker and wife Betty; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Geraldine Davis and E.W. "Tucker Bill" Tucker.
