Johnnie Owens

Memorial services for Johnnie Hester Owens, 67, of Fort Worth will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 30, 2011 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel.
Mrs. Owens passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011 in Fort Worth. She was born to Newton Henry and Willie Mae Hester on February 10, 1944 in Cleburne. Johnnie earned her BS in Psychology in 1992 from Texas Wesleyan University, Fort Worth. She retired as a caseworker with Child Protective Services after over 10 years service both in Sherman and Fort Worth. Johnnie loved her work and took great pride in helping children in need. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Cleburne. Grandmama, as her grandchildren call her, was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing. She was an animal lover, especially of dogs. Johnnie's giving nature and love of laughter will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim ; and sisters, Frankie and Jake.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Jayson Wayne Owens (Sherrie), Janet Christine Stoufflet (Mark), and Justin Wiley Owens (Cindy); grandchildren, Brian, Brandon, Taylor, Madisyn, Jessica, Katie, Camille, and Zander; great grandchildren, Collin and Parker; nieces, Jan and Susan Canavan; nephew, Pat Canavan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
