Johnnie Ownbey

Mrs. Ownbey passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2005 in Arlington. She was born January 27, 1921 in Cleburne, Tx., to John Christian and Ava Harris Looper Shouse. She married Donald Cooper Ownbey on November 23, 1939 in Cleburne.
Mrs. Ownbey was a retired accountant. She worked for Nestle Corp. for 17 years and for Cleburne Times for several years. She was a member of Field St. Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Ruth Chapter and Business and Professional Women.
Johnnie Ownbey is survived by her brother, Doug Shouse and wife Judy of Mansfield; nieces and nephew, Shellee Carter, Brenda Pou and Chris Shouse; a number of great nieces and great nephews; aunt, Roberta Grigsby of Cleburne; numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Ownbey in 1977 and a sister, Dorothy Prine.
