Services for Johnny Faye Blount, 84, of Godley, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Godley. The Rev. Ken Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in Godley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kirt Blount, Lance Schichtl, Nick Schichtl, Todd Mitchell, Mike Hickey and Aaron Slover. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Green, Sam Hardcastle, J.R. Fagin, Richard Bruce, Douglas Green, Rusty Light, and Eddie Hayes.
Johnny Faye Blount passed away Friday, September 12, 2008 in Cleburne. She was born June 29, 1924 in Winters, TX to John "J.D." and Cora Magnolia Ashley Hinkle. She married Andrew Blount in July 1942.
Mrs. Blount was a precinct judge in Godley for many years. She was president of the Grandmother's Club of Johnson County and Secretary/Treasurer of the Godley Community Service Club. She also wrote for a genealogy magazine for Johnson County.
Johnny Faye Blount is survived by her son, Andy Blount and wife, Joyce of Godley; daughter, Angel Schichtl and husband, Butch of Conway Arkansas; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Blount, Sr. on February 4, 2002 and a brother and sister.
