Service for Johnny Lewis Ellis, 77, of Fort Worth, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 7, 2018 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Chaplain Don Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in Rio Vista Cemetery.
Mr. Ellis passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Fort Worth. He was born April 5, 1941 to Pearl and Mildred Lee Roberts Ellis. He married Wanda Lee Moore on June 1, 1960 in Cleburne. Johnny was a manager for Albertson’s Grocery Store. He also wrote resumes professionally.
He was a hard working man who not only loved western movies and classic country music, but also loved reading, hunting, fishing and old cars. Camping, boating and family gatherings were also things he loved. His family says he made the best brisket in town.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wanda; daughters Kimmie June May and husband Tommy, and Vickie Lynn Ellis; son Eric Eugene Ellis and wife Shannon; grandchildren Ashley Fanning and husband Matt, Austin Jones and wife Erin, Amanda Jones, Chad Ellis and wife Becky, Adam Ellis and wife Amber, Justin Ellis and Trenton Ellis; great grandchildren Caden and Paxton Fanning.
He was preceded by his parents and his sister Nancy Atwood.
