Johnny McGill

Mr. McGill passed away Friday November 4, 2005 in Dallas. He was born June 22, 1947 in Hillsboro, Texas to Wisdom and Arzelia Lavada Major McGill. He married Darlene Allen on June 8, 1991 in Cleburne.

Mr. McGill was a truck driver and worked for Team America Trucking for 11 years. He graduated in 1963 from Peabody High School in Hillsboro where he played the trumpet in the high school band. He attended Sam Houston College for 2 years and enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1966 where he served in Vietnam. He also attended Hill Jr. College in Hillsboro where he received his certification in auto body repair. He was a member of First Mount Zion Baptist Church and loved his Lord and family. In his pastime he loved to attend car shows.

Johnny Paul McGill is survived by his wife Darlene McGill of Cleburne; two daughters, Mona Byrd and husband Kenneth of Cleburne and Candice Autrey and husband Edward of Whitney; three sons, Reginald Hardemon of Cleburne, Willie Hardeman and wife Luevena of Ft. Worth and Lee Jerry Williams and wife Niki of DeSoto; six brothers, William McGill and wife Sheila of Dallas, James McGill and wife Francis of Dallas, Ollie McGill of Dallas, Joe Richard McGill of Dallas, Phillip McGill of Dallas and Leonard McGill and wife Ella of Hillsboro; three sisters, Eula Daniels of Dallas, Delores Muhammad of DeKalb, Illinois and Lavada Griffin of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren; aunt, Amanda Johnson of Las Vegas, Nevada; and forty-seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry McGill; two sisters, Willie Pearl Williams and Cleo Cooper; and his parents.
