Memorial service for Joseph D. McCrea, 67, of Cleburne will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, December 3, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel.
Mr. McCrea passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011. He was born January 7, 1944 in Youngstown, Ohio to Mary and Joseph McCrea. He married Elizabeth Darby on July 18, 1967 in Youngstown, Ohio.
He served his country proudly in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1965. Joseph worked for U.S. Steel of Youngstown, OH, Brown and Root Comanche Peak in Glen Rose, Technical Chemical Company in Cleburne, Lockheed Martin in Ft. Worth, where he retired from, and most recent, with his sons at Lone Star Collision Center in Cleburne.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Libby; daughter, Cindy Bryan and husband Eric Sheppard; two sons, Joseph McCrea and wife Lori and Ralph McCrea and wife Nikki, all of Cleburne; six grandsons, Tanner Bryan, Clayton Bryan, Kevin Bryan, Ean McCrea, Rustin McCrea and Jordan Essary; four granddaughters, Megan McCrea, Lindsey McCrea, Megan Tarpley and Kalee Tarpley, all of Cleburne; sister, Pat and Joe Szabados and their family of Ohio; brother, Bill and Shirley McCrea and family of Florida; other family members, Pat and Joel Jackson and family of Arlington; Sue and Sam Fenstermacher of Cleburne; Bill and Laurie Darby and family of Spring, TX, Ralph and Judy Darby and family of Glen Rose, Mike and Cathy Darby and family of Cleburne; Josette and Randy Fullen and family of Joshua and other family members from Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Joseph McCrea; brother, Ernest McCrea and a sister, Judy McCrea Buckley.
